It feels like you are on the same plane (or higher) than me on the aspect of reading books and assimilating knowledge. I have become an avid reader of books recently and been reading them furiously. Your article confirmed my doubts about "shift of focus". It will be easier to notice it now that it has been defined as such. Great work!!

I recently finished reading "Seal of the Soul" by Gary Zukav and currently on "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey. I have a gut feeling that the philosphies of the two authors converge but been unable to define it. Hope the shift of focus does not kill my understanding altogether :)

That is a kick-ass article.
It's true, just how many books you read and don't grasp...

Hey this is so true! Often I find that I'll read a book, think wow that's great and then never use it. Like Stephen Covey's life planner. He said prioritise your week, write the important stuff, then the other things and I said to myself yea I'll do it...Then before you know it I'm reading some other book. For some reason though, I feel bad highlighting a book even if it is mine. Gotta get over this. Thanks for the article Daniel!
