Peacocking...
This has been bothering me for quite some time now, and I am in the process of writing an in depth post about peacocking vs. having style. Please, everyone let me know your thoughts on the matter, how far do you go with peacocking, how often, do you even peacock, etc?

I think the term peacocking is stupid and the entire theory of isnt all necessary.
Sure you want to stand out when you walk in a room, but in my honest opinion, some of the stuff i see people wearing seems foolish and I would laugh if i saw people wearing it.
For me, I would just consider myself stylish rather than a person who peacocks because I dont wear all that extra stuff like the hats/rings/watches/wristbands/scarfs just to wear them. I get compliments on my dress whether is be about the shirt or pants, maybe a jacket so i know i am put together well.

I dont go crazy, i just wear a tie when i go to a bar for instance. No one else has one so i stand out with good style. I dont feel that i need to go absolutely insane with peacocking to get attention especially when i end up doing the initiation on the conversation anyway.

Peacocking is a joke, if you dress with style you don't need it. If what they want to do is stand out, do it with your presence/entrance.

just as they say "beauty is common." well, so is "style."
so i think w/ peacocking, even if you do have crazy style. you should still be wearing a thing or two that stands out.
how often do you see some dude standing around w/ style for days and wearing an expensive watch? all the time. now just imagine that guy wearing a cheap $2 watch that's some odd color. he's probably gonna get asked why he's wearing such a cheesey watch.
so peacocking isn't really a joke.
but then again, that's just what EYE think.

I think peacocking is great for opening your eyes to the world of fashion. Before I ever knew about PUA, I wore plain t-shirts and jeans for years! After learning about peacocking I was looking a lot more at my style and changing it completely!!! It changes your confidence levels and gives it that much of a boost.
So I wouldn't say it is completely useless, but it does have good results no matter what.

Of course you can pick up without peacocking, if you take any single peice out of the intricate design of PU it will still work. If someone walks in and refuses to disqualify himself he will still pick up, just as you are insinuating that if you walk in without looking like a freak you will pick up. Take too many out and it will fall yeh..
When I started this I was a lot like C-DUB wearing what I thought was ok, I mean it looked good but it looked normal. Then I went through a stage of massive peacocking, and now that I am down from that I have a good mix of peacock and style that dosent make me look like a freak.

Peacocking is cool... However the definition people has is what makes them go off
I.E.
Mystery peacocks in a way I would NEVER do, however his lifestyle is something that I don't have as of right now... The money.. The house... etc... He can pull it off... Other guys can't
I have peacocking items, minor ones, such as i.e. Funny t-shirts, rings, outrageous shoes of naked women, etc and it works for me.. Cause I can pull it off
It has a good side: Catches attention
It has a bad side: If you're not able to BACK UP your style with CONGRUENCY, then you're game over.

Well, fuck me, Romeo. Those shoes are awesome. We should have a sticky fashion thread where everyone can post links to cool clothing/jewellery etc.

I think you're all missing an important point.. At least, as I see it..
I peacock pretty often. Not because of my outergame but because of my innergame!
Usely I am to selfaware and take myself to serieus. When I put my tophat on, I'm like "what the hell, I am wearing something this rediculous, it doesn't matter anymore how I behave cause I look like a fool anyway." This really helps me! When I put that hat on it helps me to get comfortable and just have the "what the hell, i don't care" attitude.
My thoughts on this are: "if you wear something like a tophat, you are either the coolest guy at the club or the biggest loser." So if you wear a tophat or anything else rediculous, you better have fun or you're the loser.
I actually just bought this hat:
