Default New Goal, get an apartment by next summer

My friend and I had a very long talk yesterday about getting an apartment and being roommates. He has a very steady job right now with very good pay and going to college in marine technology or some shit like that. He works for an oil transportation company. The rest falls on me, I have a shit job right now, but I can change that. I am going to school for Sports Management to become a sports agent to deal with contracts and all that legal stuff. Sure that is a long time, but I can find a job, I have a degree, I can make good pay and all if I find the right place.

This is something I really want to do. I probably should start saving right now, throwing a little bit of money aside each pay.

For you guys who have experience in getting your own place, how did you go about doing it and everything?

I got student loans. I have enough left over in loans to pay for 1 year of rent, and am getting a job to pay for food. Otherwise I would not be able to live here; rent costs would require a full time job and that wouldn't give me enough time for school.

Do you have room mates or is it by yourself?

I have a roommate... I wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise even with loans.
