We need a MISSION STATEMENT!
  • Please write a mission statement in reply to this thread

This forum reached a peak many months ago, and since then as you will all agree it's been on a downward slump. We all love this place: The archives contain articles of great inspiration, there used to be many role models that I know I used to look up to and sigh in admiration. We all created goals together, worked towards them, shared the lows and the highs - look how much we achieved!

Together we became better men. We became more successful with women, in life, with family relations and friends. Time and again I remember reading threads of great joy, members setting up businesses, losing weight, gaining love and respect. You old members will share similar thoughts as me here, a small smile in fond memories. New members have probably read old threads and gasped in exsaperation!

Yet cobwebs have gathered. We (I very much included) have become complacent in our lives, yet there is a silent yearning for more. Yes you can probably approach, yes you can earn a mediocre sum of money, yes you know now you can get stronger and fitter, but will you? Many of you will be familiar with Steve Pavlina's concept of 7 out of 10. Where if asked to grade our areas of life we would on average say '7', but why don't we go for 10? We can do better, we should do better, we need to do better.

Are you REALLY where you want to be in life? Are you as healthy as you'd ideally want? Are you earning as much as you REALLY want? Are you sharing as much as you can? Are you really the best you can be at attracting girls? Are you fulfilling the potential of the great man you can be?! I know 100% that I am answering in the negative to every question here. I could be in a much better position in life. I could (and can) be so much fitter and stronger than I am now! I know deeply that my earning potential is greatly higher than it's current level. I believe I could be building rapport at a faster and deeper level. Thus I am NOT the man I could be.

When we wake up, we should be jumping out of bed EXCITED about the day before us. When we go to sleep, we should have a huge smile in acknowledgement of the growth achieved that day. When looking at our diaries, we shouldn't be concentrating on urgent yet trivial matters, but IMPORTANT and long-term goals! We should be creating and maintaining relationships rather than fixing problems due to an absence of the former. It's the Stephen Covey's P/PC balance.

Do you as an individual have a clear sense of direction? Do you base your decisions around this, taking everything into balance and creating a wise choice that will garuntee you to success? Do you know what you want from life? At your funeral, what do you want people to say about you? Start with the end in mind. Everyday can be used to great potential, unlimited in opportunities and growth. Yet I know that few men in the world do use it so, but right here in this forum, we ALL know that we could be so much more. WE could ACHIEVE so much more, GROW more, SHARE more, LOVE more and HELP more.

What is our goal as a team, and we do need a goal. To be committed in life and as a team, we MUST be involved. Every single one of us needs to have a say in things, we all sit around the same table here, we all float in the same boat. When we row together, we move faster and in a clearer direction. Rowing in different directions at different speeds causes chaos. Use this metaphor in your own life, and here on this forum.
  • We need a MISSION STATEMENT.

I want everyone to be involved in this, because it's all of us that keep the boat going. We can be great men in this world, the future is before us to create so what do you want from it? Please take the time to write your deepest goals, beliefs and desires here in the form of a Mission Statement. A paragraph that entails what you truely believe this forum is about, what we should do, what we can do. Remember that the forum is not some external thing, but that it is us. We ARE the forum.

This Mission Statement will be our core values, the unchanging centre of our lives which will be full of change and growth. When making a decision, you can read this mission statement, you can compare whether the choice is in line with these underlying values, whether you are still rowing in the same direction.

We cannot get this going without ALL of our input. With each stroke comes greater force, we need to have trust in eachother, we need to talk to eachother, we need to help eachother stand up after each fall, we have to support each and every member, no matter how young or old, girl or guy. We are a team, we are in this together and if there is one thing that I know we ALL have in common, it's that we want to GROW.

Please take some time in writing your mission statement, think about who and what you want to be. Everyone is involved. Each and every mission statement will be read, then a final one will be drafted up that combines each persons desires and deepest values. We'll create this together, and commit to it together, so like a business motto let's develop one that really stands for who we are!

No matter what happens, I want to thank you so much for being great men that have helped me, and many others grow a huge amount. Thank you.

When it comes down to it, I think that everyone is seeking happiness and joy out of life. Everyone attempts to achieve happiness in a different way. Here are a few things that I value that I feel would help me lead a fulfilling life:

Intelligence- I feel that it is important to have a diverse base of knowledge. It is even more important to know how to apply that knowledge and make wise decisions.

Integrity- It involves respecting people, being honest, being accountable for you actions. Having integrity is becoming increasingly difficult; it is becoming more acceptable to lie, cheat, and backstab to get ahead in our society.

Courage- This is something I highly value, but struggle with on a daily basis. I desires to have the courage to stand up for my beliefs and to achieve what I desire. I want to say "yes" to opportunities that come my way, even it they violate my comfort zone.

Empathy- It is too easy to get caught up in life and overlook others who are in bad situations. I feel that it is important to help others who may be stuck in a rut. Without actually feeling empathy/sympathy, aiding someone doesn't amount to much more than an empty gesture.

Physical Fitness- This is pretty straight forward; we need to respect our bodies. It's the only one we're going to have. I really dislike it when people starve themselves to look good on the outside; it's terrible for your physical and mental health (I actually learned in psychology that not eating enough can actually cause people to become irritable and depressed). Being in good shape inside and out is good for your mental health, and may come in handy if you end up in a survival situation.

Creativity- Having creativity makes life interesting; It isn't just for musicians, writers, and artists. It makes trying to figure what to do after school or work easy and fun. It also allows you to solve problems in new ways nobody has thought of before.

Adventure- Doing the same thing day in and day out gets pretty boring. I'm always down for hopping in the car with some friends and a camera, then driving off somewhere spontaneous and random. A lot of times nothing noteworthy happens, but sometimes we come back with greats stories to tell. I want my life to be an adventure; I want to hop on the next available flight to anywhere (like in Yes Man). I want to get my adrenaline rushing. And I don't want to get stuck at some job where the most fun I have is the occasional weekend trip, or a once a year vacation.

I'm not really overly concerned with monetary success anymore. I've realized that I'm not going to be happy if I focus on money and material success; I'd much rather work to embody the things I've listed above.

On a side note, I watched Yes Man for the first time a few weeks ago. It has really inspired me to work to quit limiting my life experience to stuff I'm comfortable doing. I want to be able to say yes to opportunities that come my way.

I think it needs to turn into an online fraternity/brotherhood. As to a mission statement, I really do have no idea where I'm fully going in life right now but am loving that

The place that I want to see this website going in the future is whit the top MEN sites like MAXIM or MENS HEALTH. We are not full of hot women and 6pack model bodies, we are the REAL DEAL which I think gives us the edge with the normal guy out there.

First and for most I think this website should always BE OPEN: open about topics, issue, members and respect the opinion of others.

DRIVE: This website should push itself to the limit and beyond to really help out MAN out there .
COURAGE: This website will go where no other website like ours has gone before.

FUN: This site will be easy going, fun and full of great stories that can really connect with people.

KNOWLEDGEABLE: The site will be a fountain of information, from articles on the web, to podcast, videos and even first hand experience so that our members grew intellectually. If we don't have the answer to your question, WE WILL GO OUT AND FIND IT FOR YOU.

This are just a few for NOW.

COME ON PEOPLE LETS DO THE DAMN THING.

Hey Alex can you expand on this? What exactly would you like? More communication I'm guessing, through other mediums such as skype? If you PM me your Skype name, it'd be great to talk. Today I spoke to Daniel for the first time on Skype and it's sweet to talk to people in person.

Tona I love where you're going with this, and remember that this 'website' is US. It's not the website that "will be easy going, fun and full of great stories that can really connect with people" it's us, the members! We ARE the forum, the website is just a way through which we can connect and share information. We can learn so much from eachother! For instance, do you know any cool card tricks that I can learn?

Dmacfour - awesome response. Definitely going to take everything you wrote on board and I need to think about some of those issues myself for instance integrity. This is such a huge part of our lives: an ability to keep promises to ourselves and have persistance.

I'm still working on my Mission Statement, will have it posted tomorrow morning.
Nice work guys.

This forum is a resource to becoming the elite... and to support one another on our individual paths towards enlightenment. We laugh and share stories and learn from others experiences. We are all working towards becoming the ideal man[and figuring out just what that is] and this forum acts as a guide to help us all become the best that we can be.... and then becoming even better than that.

My Mission Statement:

To be humbled everyday by the wonder of the Universe, furthered by a constant acquirement of deep knowledge and skills. To wake each morning excited to grow my interdepence with others in this world through love, compassion and honest communication. To fall asleep everynight next to a beautiful girl with whom great passions are shared and learned.

My mission statement.

Short term goals.

Before I start my university in September, this four months I said to myself that I want to read more on religions. Before this I read a lot of books on relationship and self -improvement. Just name it. Working in the bookstore exposed me to many good books. Now I'm interested in alternative medicine.(short term m ission)

I want to invent menu that are delicious and healthy especially for those with conditions. Most healthy food are tasteless(like hospital food). Now I'm on a book about herbs for medication. This research will help people with condition like me to experience life to the fullest and give the oppurtunity for us to lead life like normal people.(long term mission)

Now I'm working and I realized how much I miss exam I prefer being stress due to exam than being stress because of work. Especially work that you don't love doing it.Sometimes situation left you with no choice.I'm going to work hard, to save money for my uni fees.At the moment I'm doing two jobs, during the days I'm working as personal assisant to someone with title and during the weekend, I 'm a tutor for kids.I teach Bahasa Melayu to international kids.I planning to find another job so that I will finish paying my hospital outstanding bill in 4 four months.(short term mission- save money for fees and pay off my hospital bills)

My mission now is searching my inner strength and the reasons behind my unfortunate events in my life.

I laugh at myself whenever I fail , then I stand up, and do it again.

Only we know what is the best for us.

My personal mission statement for the past 9 months has been "Be positive, stay positive."
I've realized (and learned a lot about this here too) that keeping a positive attitude about things helps to keep you going.

This post holds true to that.

PUA Life Style Mission Statement

Using the facets of Health, Presentation, Social Interactions, Intelligence, and Sexuality, this forum aims to redefine Pick Up and to shift your focus to becoming better contributors to society. Womanising does not constitute you as a contributor to society. The Game and Pick up is a game for young boys to play; however, this forum, with the aid of other contributors is here to make you grow into a man. Not just any man. A man who is embracing a healthier lifestyle, is able to converse in any given social setting, is knowledgeable of the world around him, and loves like a man should, is why we are here.

Contributors:
Expectations of you, as a contributor, will be that you are open and willing to accept criticism of your posts.

Responders:
Don’t be ‘yes men’. While positive reinforcement can be useful, you limit the growth of the members, by not providing some form of constructive feedback.

Members:
The opposite of happiness, is not sadness, but it is boredom. Excitement is but one way to achieve happiness. So an expectation of you, as a member of this forum, is to live life. There is more to life than sitting in front of your computer screen.

As a side note, and a casual observation – There seems to be less and less, field reports on this forum. Is it me, or are we stuck behind our computers a lot more, and no one’s out there meeting women and living life? I think you’re right in saying that the site has reached a peak Tom – but is there a cause?

Villain: I hear bro and there has been a post about the lack of FR. Now I don't think that it should only be about women(I know you point that out) so we all should have lots of stories. And if you want field reports you should set an example and write one so that people can follow.

This is the post:http://pualifestyle.com/forum/showth...=field+reports

Firstly, I agree with Dmacfour's statement. I love it.

Secondly, here's what I find really important about the forum:

- A lot of knowledge is passed around and we help each other understand and deal with everyday. (of course, everyday not being just a regular dude's everyday)

- Ideas! You guys have motivated (and taught) me to go where I could imagine I'd go before. I'm talking about self-improvement and ways to do it.

- Sometimes when I felt down I came here and got comfort, hope and motivation from some posts. Then I've gotten up again and tried again.

Tom, I also really like your statement, but the girl part puts a bit too much pressure on a man

I think there is no need for me to make a mission statement for us because it is obvious that we want one thing in life and that is success.I will just support you guys whatever our mission statement will be.

Hey Villain, there are always causes and here's a few of my guesses as to why: Firstly, the loss of Ian. In my opinion, he is a great role model and showed what is possible in life. Secondly boredom, writing and thinking about the same stuff for long periods of time gets boring. Which shows the importance of PROACTION. I don't think I would have stuck around for very long if I didn't put any of this new stuff into action.

If you want more FRs, then please help kick-start the trend and start posting! "Be the change you want to see in the world." Actually, what do you do?!

Guys thank you for your responses. What I'm going to do is print out this whole thread, write down all the various keywords that you have all written e.g. positiveness, PU, success, elite and then try to amalgamate them all into a coherent, clear passage that hopefully we can all agree on.

Chow!
