Momentum
1000 Small Pebbles, 1 Strong Foundation
Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit
Aristotle
Every one of us secretly wishes that some things would just happen instantly.
-We want all the money in the world NOW.
-We want all the women we can fuck NOW.
-We want that dream job, NOW.
-We want to be free of debt and obligation, NOW.
-We want it all...NOW!!!
For the most part, if you're determined enough, and know what it takes to achieve the above, then you WILL get it all...
...but not NOW.
NONE OF US will EVER get it NOW. It just wont happen. You wont wake up one day, look out your window, and see a Ferrari Enzo, Bentley Continental, BMW 760i, Mercedez-Benz SL500 AMG, a stack of money equaling $100,000,000,000, and 16 random GODDESSES waiting to worship you at your beck and call.
Why not?
Because getting everything "NOW" is physically, mentally, and logically impossible.
As you are reading this, you ARE in the NOW. You're going to tell me (Or yourself) that, at this very moment (That you are reading this sentence in parentheses) that all the world's most luxurious riches are going to fall on your lap, just because you're SUCH an awesome human being?
Get real! If it were THAT easy, would you not consider your current goals to BECOME successful POINTLESS? All you would be looking forward to is WAITING TO DIE, with all the luxuries in the world. Sure, that'll probably be awesome. You can wear your expensive clothes, and flashy jewlery, and drive in expensive cars, and eat in expensive haute restaurants, and use your expensive distractions to screw and fuck expensive golddigger women. Whoop-de-doo.
But, when you think about it, what are you doing with your life? Are you changing the world for the better? Are you improving yourself? Are you doing ANYTHING?
If you have ALL the world has to offer, what else do you have to aim for?
Immortality? Impossible. Cloning yourself? What for; YOU'RE gonna die anyway. Destroying the world? You'd probably be caught before you even buy the nukes.
Face the facts: If you have nothing more to move forward with, you've basically stated "I can die now".
Perhaps...If you DID have all the world has to offer, you can be considered "Ready to die contently". But, let's move back to reality; where WE, the common person, are right now.
We DON'T have everything in the world. We DON'T have the expensive toys and gadgets, we DON'T have the harem of beautiful women, we DON'T have that dream job where we can make things happen...
We're AIMING to get what we want in life by setting our GOALS, taking action to ACT upon them, and generating positive RESULTS.
We've already stated the problem of actually HAVING all the world has to offer, but there is a more common problem that can be worse: BELIEVING you CAN'T have anything the world has to offer.
You may feel that everything is beyond your grasp. You may feel that you'll never amount to much in life. You may feel that life is just too tough, and that you always have to fight tooth and nail to get what you want.
The thing with this reality is, none of the above is true. People think like this because they do not realize that EVERY ACTION they perform is either a forward or backward movement in life.
Everything I do can be a positive achievement, or a negative error.
Everything YOU do can be positive or negative.
What we do, is simply what we did
Life is life.
It is what it is.
We see things based on how we've always seen things.
As Americans (For our non-american userbase, let me know how the media in your country works), we are surrounded by negativity. Death, corruption, crime, tragedy...it SELLS, because sadly, that kind of crap CAPTURES OUR ATTENTION. What captures attention makes MONEY. Money rules America. That's not the point.
Because of this consistent negative media barraging our brains, we tend to see the world we live in as negative. Improving our lives is impossible. Achieving great success is reserved for the "lucky few". 'Why do women always pick the "strong, successful guy"?. I'm capable too, even though I have a lot of problems'.
It's positve or negative. 50/50. Heads or Tails.
BALANCE.
Every action we do can be framed positively or negatively.
Successful People consider EVERYTHING THEY DO, be it landing a deal, seducing a hot goddess, or even brushing their teeth in the morning, a POSITIVE VICTORY!
...wow. That sure hit me hard when I found that out.
Waking up in the morning is a positive victory (And the GREATEST victory, if you know what I mean). Pissing right after you wake up is a positive victory. Brushing your teeth is a positive victory. Walking to the kitchen is a positive victory. Cooking your breakfast is a GLORIOUS VICTORY. Picking up the paper is a positive victory. READING the paper on the way to work is a positive victory. Having a job in the first place is a FUCKING MIRACLE OF GOD. Getting to work on time is another GLORIOUS VICTORY. Saying hi to each and every one of your coworkers is a positive victory. Getting half your day's tasks done before lunch is a positive victory. Eating a healthy lunch is a positive victory. Clocking in on time from your break is another GLORIOUS VICTORY. Wrapping up your duties before it's time to leave is a positive victory. Staying after to discuss plans with your boss is another awesome victory. Finishing your paper on the way home is another positive victory. Making it home safely is a GLORIOUS VICTORY. If you're single, changing and going out to seek sex from hot women is a positive victory. If you have a family, spending time with the children is an ULTIMATE VICTORY. Going to sleep on time is a positive victory.
In one day, that's 13 positive victories, 4 glorious victories, and 2 beyond-awesome miracle ultimate victories.
19 VICTORIES IN ONE DAY! Most people dont even acknowledge ONE of those as even remotely RESEMBLING a victory, and they STILL manage to have an average day. Imagine how your day would be if you acknowledge every small task you did as a small victory.
I think, depending on how much of a self-improvement lunatic a person can be, anyone who sticks with this mentality can see anywhere from 30 to
1000 positive victories a day! It all depends on your self-esteem, and knowledge on positivity and momentum.
One pebble, by itself, is a small, fragile piece of nature. You can throw it against a lake, and it will bounce against the water. Now, when you have 10 pebbles in your hand, it may be a tad bit difficult to hold them in, as the more there are, the stronger the whole becomes. You'll need two hands to hold 20. Once 40 pebbles come into the mix, you'll need to utilize your body to balance that heavy load. Forget 50, you'll drop them. 100 can fill a small hole. 200 can make a small pathway on dirt ground. 500 can hurt someone if all of them are dropped from a height. 750 is even bigger.
...1000 small pebbles. That's enough to form a small foundation. You cant easily destroy 1000 small pebbles.
The magic of a positive attitude is all in the way your brain processes information. I think, in the end, we should be thankful the subconscious takes EVERYTHING literally. Positivity, in small or large doses, is still positivity. What may be 1 small, harmless pebble to your subconscious can turn into 1000 pebbles that will bury that jerk in a pile of positive energy and emotions.
The key is MOMENTUM. One action is not enough. Habit is created through persistent effort. The key here is to acknowledge that EACH action you perform is positive, even if it's small and seemingly insignificant.
I think I have around 12,500 positive actions I just made in this post, just by typing each letter in this post. Or, I have 1 MAJOR, SUPER, OMEGA positive achievement by typing this whole post. On the flipside, you've achieved 12,500 positive actions just by READING every letter in this post, or 1 MAJOR, SUPER, OMEGA positive action by reading the bulk of it.
That's all there is to it gentlemen. Thank you for reading. Keep building positive momentum

P.S: I would like to add a disclaimer to this post. As much as I do not like to say the following, the above is USELESS to people who have negativity in their heart, mind, and body. If you find yourself fighting with the information stated above, you need to acknowledge that you have a toxic, negative attitude eating you alive inside. That was the case with myself, and it was only after I realized that I can CHOOSE to acknowledge that internal negativity DOES NOT EXIST, that I was able to see this fact of life shine in my face. Acknowledge your negativity, CHOOSE to render it nonexistent, and THEN re-read this post. Otherwise, you will notice eternal conflict, and you'll be leading yourself in a circle of madness)
