Default I am lazy as hell...

I feel like I am wasting potential. I've been unmotivated since freshman year of high school, yet I still end up with decent grades. I'm probably going to end up with a 3.4-3.6, and I put out 50% effort. I zone out and don't take notes, but I still get A's on my tests. I dunno wtf is wrong. I know I have the ability, but I never put out any more effort than is necessary.

What should I do to get motivated?

If you want to be motivated, you need to convince yourself. Tell yourself that you want to do it, and then get stuff done. If you have a lot of work you need to do, make a list of things to do. Rank the list, starting with easier things that can get you going. Throw in some harder ones to get them done before your burn out. End with some easier things that you know you can do.
I hope that helps

Find what you love that is the ultimate motivator. I was the same high school and first year of college was pure laziness but since I have come to understand that acting is my passion things have really been turning around for me. A man needs purpose he needs direction and that is what your looking for. So I suggest that if your going to college take as many classes that YOU want to take for yourself, not because you need the credits or units.

Same here.
Today, in chemistry, I've gotten the same grades as my colleagues that are listening and studying.
I, on the other hand, studied chemistry no more than 3-4 hours. Overall this year.

My goal was clear: I don't wanna fuck up. I want to be someone. So, I need motivation.
I've searched on the internet, books, audio material, looked into some hypnosis, and I've asked the 'nerdy' kids in my class, but also the regular ones about it.

I've found interesting methods of making things easier!
I've motivated myself, but only for short bursts with hypnosis (I mean REALLY short.).
And I've also found out that no one in my class ever thinks about life, or at least not rationally and there are no conclusions.

But I didn't find motivation. I still sit around and do something else...

Anyhow! This is a great thing, it should get you started:

I hear you brother, I gather momentum the closer it is to exams. The key for me would be to start gathering earlier.. like a month earlier. Somehow convince myself that 'the last minute' is at least 2 weeks before the exam, and not the night before. Change the deadline in my head, to a safer timeline.

I mean what are you motivated to fully apply yourself to? Like for me, I've always been lazy but one place I've put out my full effort was poker. That, in turn, helped me find motivation for statistics which though I hate and no longer take, helped me become the better student I am today. I find little motivation from different classes. If you can just figure out how each class can help make your life better its a lot easier to do the little things.

What if you aren't motivated to put 100% into any one thing? This is my predicament. I never put myself 100% into anything, I just 'dip my toe in the pool' so to speak..

I never give school my 100%, thats how Ive always been and have been satisfied with a 3.3 gpa. I dont have to stress myself out about every little thing and I find thats the easiest way to live. Besides, once you get into college, its about internships and and work experience that are going to get you jobs, not a little number, ouf course you gpa cant be shit lol.

Blame the school system. In real life there is no limit to how good you can do, essentially you could succeed further than anyone ever has, if your smart enough. But imagine the sort of person capable of becoming that successful stuck in school? Where there IS a limit to how well you can do - 100%. I believe the school system doesn't accommodate very well for pushing individuals further. When your smart enough to just ace tests without trying what's the point in being motivated? - Seriously your putting enough effort in to come out top why would you put more? Furthermore your stuck in this system until you graduate...hence you become lazy.

Maybe do some extra stuff outside of your studies to push yourself further. There is no limit to and no time frame on your success when your not in a school system and in the 'real world'.

Also try to get involved in some community programs, I am just getting started in Best Buddies which helps kids which disorders, besides that fact that you are making their days and enhancing their life by spending time with them, it really shows what kind of person you are. Thats what other people look at, now how well you did in physics or psychology, but what you do as a person. Thats why harvard, stanford, yale and ivy league schools are so hard to get into. Theres thousands of kids who have perfect gpas, but thats not enough, what separates you from everyone else?

I think that my issue is lack of passion. I'm studying something that I think is interesting, but I am not passionate about. What I need to do is go out and find something that I'll be fired up and passionate about.

Beat up laziness!

Those times you’re not into reading, read, or you are not into writing, write. In other words action is the paramount motivation. The only staff that blocks us from getting taken up into a task is not doing it, so you do it!

Seems to me like you don't have a good enough reason to GET better grades. Why do you need them? How will they contribute to your future? What happens if you DON"T get better grades?
