My advice would be go into a few different car/audio shops and just ask the guys working there. They are paid to be knowledgeable in that area.

Yeah often you can get good package deals with amp/subs together at Best Buy/Futureshop.

It's expensive though, I think after I got my stuff, it came to around $1000.

I got two 12", amp, and the box.

And also, It's cheaper to install yourself.
It might take a while to figure it out, but if you have friends who have done it before, get them to help out.

You'll learn much more about your vehicle, and save some cash.

Good luck!

On my old car, when I put subs in, it made the trunk rattle like crazy, I hated it.

Im not even going to bother on my new one because I dont want to waste the money if its just going to bother me. I am def going to replace the stock speakers though. Make sure you do that to if you havent. Or if your car has good speakers to begin with then dont bother. I had an option of getting the bose premium sound package, but I didnt want to pay any extra to have it put in.

it seems like my post dissapeared when we got hacked awhile back. audio equipment has a retail markup of 300% or more. when you buy from a store you get charged through the roof. For instance speakers that cost you 1000 in the store will only cost you about 400-600 online at pricewatch, ebay, or cnet.

go to the store, find out what you want.. then purchase everything online.

I had two 12" inch Eclipse's in my Grand Cherokee and it knocked! Eclipse makes some nice subs, for the right price. Honestly, these subs are almost on the same level as JL W7's. But at a fraction of the cost.

Because you have a limited budget, you could get away with one 12" Eclipse SW8200 ($200) and one Alpine 1000 watt CLASS D amp (~$200).

Then find a cheap 12" enclosure and someone to hook it up. You'll be set.
