So the last couple of Fridays, I've been having people over to chill at my place. Despite having almost 300 days worth of music, barely any of it is suitable for parties and such.

What are some good tunes I can get my hands on that are good for parties?

What genre do you consider party music?

To me party music is electronic/club/house/trance

I would consider it a mix of rap/hip hop/electronic/club/house/trance. And maybe a couple of rock songs (like the classics that everyone knows and loves).

I'm a fan of rap and house. If you want some great rap songs go to www.hotnewhiphop.com, it's great. They upload brand new songs everyday.

As for the house stuff... im still trying to find a site that can give me great new songs everyday.

For house, I got to www.beatport.com for all the new releases. They charge for you to download full tracks, but they do let you sample, so if you find other ways to get the songs, it is fine. They have tons of shit, remixes, everything you can think of. I just get my music from my brother since he DJ's, he gets all the new shit and I just copy the file lol.

You can get top hip hop songs from that website. I've been making most of my party cds from the tracks I get from this site. Most of the stuff ppl never heard b4. More points to you if u got some hood rats over

Beatport.com is a great resource plus the music you download from there is at an extremely high quality, more so than iTunes.

For finding music I used www.last.fm which installs a program on your computer that tells you your top songs, suggests artists you might like etc.

Usually if you like one kind of style of music you might want to look into what other bands that persons record label has.

You also have to tailor your play-lists to the party. If its a rager you might want some awesome electro shit but if its a small party you will want some chiller stuff. Dont forget to construct your playlist so that its high energy music and slowly dieing off towards the end (energy).

As for actually getting the music, depending on how moral you are - www.warez-bb.org is a cool forum that has a-lot of pirate stuff
