Okay so I went out with a few friends last night to our usual spot, theres a bigger club downstairs and a lounge with a dance floor upstairs. I usually like to grind, so I spent a better part of the night downstairs, but the place was littered with scummy dudes that it made my job 10 times harder to differentiate myself from them. Didnt go well, all the girls were on stage and just trying to not associate themselves with these freaks. Bare in mind this is a college spot and I see like two 40 year old guys wandering around staring at girls like creepers. We got their late anyway because of traffic so there barely 45 minutes left when I go upstairs and they start playing some good house music. I go to the dance floor and join the group of people dancing, get my energy level up I feel good and finally find one of my friends that I came with by the bar.
I go meet up with him, shoot the shit for a few minutes about the night, there probably a half hour at the most left before they start kicking people out. We are standing there at an island table (table in the middle of the floor) and I see a girl staring at me, shes sitting at the bar by her self. I dont go over right away because I was trying to justify whether the stare was an invite or a get the fuck away from me. So we stay there and talk for another minute or two and I see her turn again and look at me. I knew right there that I have no excuse not to approach. My boy starts walking the other way so at that point its do or die, so I do. Now with me, I usually do the approaching on the dance floor and then transition that to moving to a location to talk. So just blindly going up to a girl at a bar isnt a strong point. So all of this bullshit it racing through my head and I remember on the way up the guys were joking about pickup and canned openers. So I figured I was never really the one for canned openers, like I literally never used one in my life since I started the pickup, so I was fuck it, Ill give it a try. Lets just say it went horribly wrong, I noted to myself that Id never use that bullshit again, but I told her what I was doing and we laughed it off. From that moment on we just clicked, for a visual, she was a petite blonde with her hair slicked back in a pony tail, not really dressed up, but still very pretty.
So one of the first things she asked me is if I listened to house music. Well it just so happens that thats all I really listen to and a whole bunch of threads opened up off of that. I wont go into detail because it was a lot, but she did mention she had a "boyfriend across the room" so I ignored that statement and just continued the flow. The boyfriend came up to the bar and grabbed her arm, so I respectfully moved away for a minute and got myself a drink, by the time I had my drink he was gone so we continued chatting. He comes back 3-4 minutes later with his friend and I can see hes getting more ticked off so I text my friends and let them know to stand by just in case. Because im gaming his girl pretty much right in front of him. He leaves again, she says sorry her boyfriend is being a prick. Continue where we left of, he comes back a third time, grabs her arms and says I need to talk to you, instead he walks out of the place and leaves her, so I tell her to go talk to your boyfriend, she says sorry I will be right back, but she walks the other way. I assume she was looking to see if her other friends left so I found my friends, explained to them what had happened, but stayed close by in case she came back. She never did, its funny that we build a great rapport but didnt even introduce ourselves at all, didnt swap numbers or anything.
Whats funny about this was on the way up I was talking about how I need to find a girl who has as much passion about house music that I do. She is a DJ, she produced music, she goes to school in the area, she pretty much fit the bill 100%, but thats how the game goes. You win some you lose some
