Default Can't seem to find a sport that fits me?

It seems as if I just stopped liking sports at all..

I'm working fulltime, got some own businesses and stuff, and are just very busy. Everytime I'm beeing active, I can't concentrate and like it. I'm only thinking: "crap, I'm spoiling time doing sports now while actually I have so much to do." and "damn this is stupid."

The last thing I do was go to the gym for almost a year. I quit it about 4 months ago. I went with 2 friends who said they liked it, and it cleared their heads and made them feel relaxt afterwards.. Actually with me, I'm getting stressed and fucked up in my head WHEN I sport.. And when I am finished I feel like shit (not fysically, but mentally).. Just the opposite of what I hear others say.

It's not that I am stressed or whatever. Absolutely not. I like my busy life and I'm very structured and organised. I don't need any sleep and I'm very high energy.

Another thing is, I hear people say they sport because it helps them manage their agression that inside of them. But I don't have that at all. I don't feel the need to express myself in such a way.

Still, I do want to keep in shape or work on my stamina. But I can't find any sports that I like while doing it.

Anyone recognizes this or has a solution?

I'm exactly sure why you're getting stressed and fucked up in your head, but I had a similar situation. I play very competetive soccer (football for you). Whenever I played I made things so crazy in my head. I worried about everything. I worried about stupid things like- damn what if there is a scout here? Just stupid things that, even though they are important, I shouldn't worry about like crazy.

This is what I did. I began to really enjoy it. I love soccer, but I just became way too serious with it that I didn't concentrate on what matters the most. You have to have fun! That's what it all comes down to, having the time of your life. Once I did that, wow I became so much better. Everything just started going perfectly.

This might not be the answer that you're looking for, but it's what helped me. Just find a sport that you can have fun with. Don't worry about the stamina part about it. It will come. If you work hard enough it will come. Just make sure that you enjoy yourself. Be able to laugh a little. All of this frustation will go away, and everything will start working out. Don't have any doubts about anything.

Trust me, I used to get so frustrated that I couldn't handle it. Now, I love it. I love playing because it's just so much fun now.

I hope I helped.
Peace,

You could try doing a non team based sport to start with... Biking, kayaking, etc? I take an hour to ride my bike each day and it helps me a lot.

I just got into tennis last year and I find it is a perfect fit for me.

First of all it doesnt require a team so you can play by yourself. If you have a partner 2 on 2's are pretty fun.

I am quick so I am all over the court. Since I just started I am always improving and it feels good to know you are getting better. Just today I was playing with 3 friends and they were complimenting me on how good my serve got.

Tried any solo sports? Extreme sports like snowboarding/skiiing/skateboard/bmx/mtb/kayak?

There's tons of things you can do on your own time without having to make plans into your busy life.

Like a few of the other guys have mentioned, ever tried non-competitive/solo sports? With those, there is no pressure to perform or achieve, as whatever you are doing, you are doing for your own fun and benefit. I absolutely love surfing because not only is it active, but even if there aren't many waves, it's nice to just sit out in the ocean and chill out, letting your thoughts roam free.
Bush walking is also another great, laid back activity. Only thing with these 2 sports is; you need to be in a location where they are accessible.
I also jog a fair bit. And again with that, it's so much more pleasant with a nice location, ie, beach etc.
Good luck on your quest Sir.

my suggestion for you man is to take up a sport that can be therapeutic. start skiing or snowboarding. Tai Chi is also a good choice. This will not only help you physically exert yourself but will also help you gain focus and relax you

How bout a less extreme sport that dosent need snow or a mountain? My suggestion is golf, people love golf. Its low key and great excersise. If you have a local course then awesome, if you have a not so local course, practice in the garden or a local park. There is very little more therepeutic than hitting golf balls. It can be solo or team and it wont f*** with your mind because its a. fun and b. you can measure skill level so you actualy improve at something in your spair time..

Need just one more incentive? I thought you might.. As you're business minded it might put your mind at ease to know that golf is the most corporate sport you can play. Thus improving your golf game can be seen as a business past time. Take associates golfing, and even investors/interested parties for a round of golf.

My mates dad used it to climb his companies ladder in no time at all. Joined the company team, trained himself up.. Competed against the bosses, then with the bosses and as a result ended up working with the bosses.
