Default THIS is a diet.

I'm sure all of us have seen the fads and "innovations" in weight loss being tossed around the media like ragdolls.

-Diet Pills
-Wu Yi Tea
-Powder mix that promotes weight loss
-Tummy Tucking
-Liposuction
-Hydroxycut

...they do not work. All they do is enhance the production process of the chemicals in your body that are ALREADY released through a dedicated workout. In short, you're not doing much different, and the weight loss that MAY occur doesn't even come from your BMI index. It's just fluff.

As most successful weightlifters will tell you, there are only 3 things required for proper weight loss and tonage:

1)Diet
2)Excercise
3)Patience

Now, what is a diet?

It is not:
-Starving yourself
-Eating 6 times a day in small portions
-South Beach/Atkins/(Insert Generic Diet Plan)
-Nutrisystem
-Any other for-profit weight loss "solution"

The answer is as old as the cosmos: Eat in moderation, of foods that came from nature.

Eat controlled portions, and avoid processed and artificial food (Candy, Soda, Chemically altered foods, etc...). Invest in Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and drink LOTS of water. If hungry, remember that hunger IS NOT the rumbling feeling in your stomach. Hunger is the feeling you get after two days of not eating (Fasting), and wanting to scarf down everything you can eat. If so, drink water.

As for excercise, hit the gym. Doesn't matter if it's 3-5 days, but cover all muscle groups, and follow your plan (Heavy weight/Low reps, or Low Weight/High reps. Do what you intend to do).

And the last thing is patience. Weight loss does not come in a day. Maybe after 4-5 days of consistent effort will you see 1 or 2 pounds shed, and as your metabolism increases, so does your capability to burn pure body fat.

Looking good is a sacrifice, just like a college education and the development of a social circle. A positive attitude is necessary in all situations, and even then you will require patience. But stay the course, and results will show when you least expect them. Such is life.

Stay up guys. Be strong.

Faith.

Amen to that my friend, and I would like to add my two cents. IS SUPER IMPORTANT that you eat a good and healthy breakfast. This will not only get you stared with all the right things you need at the beginning of your day, but it will help you metabolism work much faster.

haha, you guys are such hippies. Diet pills? Yes they do work, better than most other things. But you've never heard of these pills before. I promise you they havent been on oprah, or on any other tv show.

Powder substitutions? yeh they do work, dont be sitting around saying these proven methods of weight loss dont work just because they are radical. any DIET works, it just needs to be followed. The diet isnt the problem, its the compliance thats the problem.

I agree with nick. Its important to stick to it.

Also though you need to know what is and what isn't going to fuck up your liver or heart.

Agree with the two above, but also moderation of chemical intake (of generally processed foods, not of radical foods) is also good too. I try to eat enough fruit and vegetables, filled with anti-oxidants, to hopefully gain some proportionality to the chemical crap. And once nice thing about anti-oxidants is they do fight off that stuff from staying in your system too.

What I'd say is to stick to exercise and consume natural foods as compared to pills.
