First off, kudos Tonatiuh8 on your immortal technique quote... im a big fan... as far as this whole brain washing bit.. its sad but a reality that I've seen my self, as my dad is a pastor and I had to seperate myself from all the brain washing that goes on in a lot of those types of radical religous churches. Its craziness.
Being spiritual in any way is your own walk, i believe there is a god, I respect his powers, and occasionally pray, but would never go as far as trying to make some one else believe my way is right and yours is wrong, to each their own.
These types of brain washing seminars, if you would, tap into your emotional circuit. They make you go into deep states of sadness and emptiness by telling these children that they are bad and that what they are doing is wrong, and they get them to feel low. Think about it, how bad can a 9 or 10 year old kid really be. This exact principle is applied to adults and many fall into these states rather easily as social proof from other followers in the church casues them to let go and give in. It's sad really watching a 30 some year old man crying like a 5 year old child, I use to have to hold back chuckles and laughter else I be reprimanded by one of the elders. (lol)
As far as religion in general, when ever asked I always sum it up to: .... It's like there is a box in front of all of us, and inside is the so called "truth" but no one really knows whats inside. It could be this or it could be that. One side says its a balloon, the other says its a rock, the other says it whatever, but in the end NO one can say right or wrong because no one will ever know. I digress.
