Why Do We Lie?

why DO we lie to those we love?...what are we trying to avoid/hide? and despite how we know its "wrong" by nature, why still do it?

Another important point is that not all lies are bad, in fact some are very necessary when it comes to love, safety, fears, and so on...society has implanted this image in our mind that ALL lies are wrong, which is very incorrect, one just needs the judgement to know when it is appropriate to do so...

As a pick up artist we are teach of gaming that is why we should not consider that we are making a lie.We use gaming in attraction, socializing etc.For others committing a lie is a sin because they were program by their parents,media,school and religious sectors that it is a bad thing.In addition to it, NO One in this world did not commit a lie.There is a psychological explanation about it i'm just out of the mood to explain it.

Why is that?

I believe lies are as important as eating, breathing, and talking. They are in bedded in us since our ancestors and were used to survive. So LYING is natural.

is a lie a lie if its not intentional...for instance if I ask you how old you are and you say 16, not remembering that you JUST had your birthday and are actually 17...is it a lie? is it a requirement that it must be mandatory in order to be called a lie?

To me a lie is when you intentionally say do wrong thing to manipulate the situation. So in your example ELYTS it was just a human been human.

ok, yes that is what I think exactly...but there are times when intentional lying is actually NECESSARY, if not DESIREABLE, or even PREFERABLE...and society has warped our minds to think that all lies are bad, why? i mean i really am missing something because I dont understnad at all why society wants us to NOT lie, is it really a bad thing? its part of our nature and its essential to our survival...so why are we "prohibiting" it??

ok so the media and shit are hypocrites, but what about like your parents, i mean i know mine are always stressing not to lie, etc etc etc, is it really hypocracy, because i mean if they think i dont have the judgement yet, they are probably right, but it seems there are better teachers than hypocracy...

As a human do you like to be cheated? for them when you were committing a lie they think that you are cheating which make them angry.They don't like a lie because that is one of their characteristics acquired through their environment.It is so happened that we can't accept the fact that we are all liers.But in my own belief i embrace that word to be human.I accept that word connoting positive meaning rather than the negative meaning...

so ergo, different people having different environments, you get differnt people who have different views on lies, but I think we should all notice and accept the positive connotation as much as, if not more than, the negative one...my view is that they are definitely a part of our human nature, and a very essential part of our survival and prosperity...but those that cannot understand WHEN to lie and when NOT to are the reason we (society) make out lies to be "bad" because its better to make something seem really BAD and have noone do it then make it seem GOOD and have people abusing it...dubious i suppose...

we lie for no reason, we lie because maybe we dont think its that bad...sometimes its a mistake and we didnt mean to lie, sometimes its on purpose, but all in all, its still a lie, and not all lies are bad, and just because tis called A LIE doesnt mean it should be misconstrued and thought of as BAD...but then again, there are exceptions...recently I lied about why whereabouts for NO FKIN REASON, i mean its actually really stupid, It wasnt like i was doing anything wrong, i was completely in the right, but for some reason when asked where I was, i said somewhere else, maybe this was because I was insecure about what I was doing, maybe because I simply felt the truth was too complicated to explain?? i dont even know, it was so retarded...perhaps its become such an accepted thing in my life, that I treat it too lightly and although its part of human nature, we have to be careful...the ripples from the splash a lie creates travel very farr....

You don't ever need to lie. Honesty is a great personality trait to inhabit and everyone appreciates an honest man. Too many girls are let down by men who hide their true feelings and thoughts, too many jobs are lost by liars, too many family arguments spin out of control just because the truth wasn't told.

Alternatively, with morals, you should never have to go against your morals, even when faced with death...But lying to save your life, unless it causes immediate harm to anyone, is certainly justified...but as for lying, like if your wife is pregnant and she asks you how do I look? I mean I would lie and say stunning because it seems like the thing to do...she just doesnt need to hear: you look fat as fuck. at that time...but i feel you on the honesty front, its just morally better to be honest, people dig that shit, im just saying sometimes you DO need to lie, to protect the ones you love, to protect yourself

honesty is the best policy, sure...but its also the best policy to know when its not necessary...rules are made to be broken, not all the time, sometimes hardly at all, but there are always times when every social conformity/rule/assumption must come into question...and the social acceptance that we should never lie also has its time...so im saying as much as honesty is a great policy and should be followed, you also must know when its time to lie...
