Kinda, facebook became a little more like twitter after twitter starting getting exposure.

With twitter, its basically a mini blog where facebook other can post and write messages to you.

oo i see i see, so to be clear, twitter ismuch less personal than facebook, and its not about pictures or whatever its basically just a "IM DOING THIS RIGHT NOW" sorta thing? and its far less invasive/personal than facebook?

yup. Its more like mini blogging.

It is really awesome if everyone you know uses it. And you all have iPhones. But I dont and none of my friends have it. So I don't update it regularly. Maybe if I had more people :S

Exactly. Twitter is facebook without the applications, the groups, the events, the pictures, etc. Twitter is a status. Someone doesn't have to follow you back for you to see their tweets (updates), but if you want them to see the @messages (where you're replying to them), they need to follow you. Otherwise, you reply to them in a one-sided conversation.

You can do the updates via text message, so you dont even need to have the application for the phone.

1) Settings
2) Devices
3) I cant remember the rest but its self explanatory and easy to follow. It will ask for you number with a "+" before it. You have to send a text message of some random letters/numbers to verify...and then the same number that you texted you can save in your phonebook at Twitter and just send text message updates to it.

haha it depends if this is usually how he acts LOL like my girl friend has her mom on facebook and so do all her friends and thats cuz shes totally cool and they go shopping and hang out a lot, so if ur dad is naturally outgoing and generally converses with ur bros dont mind it, but its pretty unorthodox if its just out of the blue haha id be a little nervous, like im being monitored 24/7

and i have to say i am very pleasantly surprised with twitter, because its basically a networking site with everything that i dont like about facebook removed (the slutty pictures, the stalking, the invasion, the threats, the race to see who has MORE people rather than who has BETTER friends) so im considering, im considering

Yeah, just last night I went to a toga party and got home at 3:30am, my dad was chilling right there half asleep on the couch, I assumed he was waiting for me to get home to see if I was drunk because my brother did that a few months back....then when I went to my room he went right to his bed...it annoys me how he doesnt trust me to make good decisions. I didnt even drink last night, I substituted the biggest Greek party of the year with water because I was driving myself and 4 others the whole night.

Thats decision making...a huge concession, but the right choice my friend, good thinking on that one But i get what you mean with the whole lack of trust thing...like wtf ur grown up, 21, in university, doing well for yourself (im hoping) and he still dosent trust you?? thats odd, either he just cant let go, or maybe do u have a history with him of being reckless/irresponsible?

Well, recently added Tony Robbins (of course) and a bunch of random college professors as well as entrepreneurs, pr people, and a few tech people.

Found some cool sites that gave me a good list and a picked and chose what I wanted.

http://davefleet.com/2009/01/40-pr-r...ow-on-twitter/
http://mashable.com/2009/02/16/twitter-professors/
http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/hiner/?p=916

Trying to learn more, and while twitter isn't really a learning tool theres still some advantages to following smart people.

Figure I might as well take advantage.

I've stopped checking Twitter as often as I used to. I keep it opened all the time, and I'll update my status via web/text usually every day or two, but I don't refresh and keep up with it. I'm following Ryan Sohmer, author of this webcomic, as well as his artist, Lar Desouza. Their posts flood my home page all the time. They don't follow me back. I hate following people you know but don't know you because if you want to reply to them, it does nothing. I can just advertise them (for example: Just read newest licd. Hilarious. @sohmer @lartist).

Overall, I enjoy Twitter and can't wait to see more school friends get on it.
