Default Critique my fall approach

My friend and I went to this new mall last night to do some late Christmas shopping. I'm essentially new to the PU game, other and Cocky/Funny which works on all high school girls. I saw this two set enter a store so my friend and I followed. While they were eyeing some shirts, I opened :

Me: I need your help
HB's: What?
Me: See, my sister is a sophomore and I have no idea what to get her. What would you want if you were a sophomore girl?
HB1: I want a car!
Me: ok, well how about on the 15 dollar budget that I have?
HB2: Well I want one of those Roxy bags over there.
Me: Cool, how much are they?
HB's: I don't know, go look haha

End of convo. What should I have done to keep the converstation going and change subjects, basically everything I should have done.

I would have opened differently, grabbed a shirt and put it up against them and before they could respond grab another and measure it on them. Then I'd go into it, ask them what school they go to etc.

PUA: Hmm u seem like a smart girl, here i need a lil female
oppinion on something (Then keep stacking)

And yes since ur just a newbie, i'd say that was still excellent.
On My first try i had miserably failed, it was soo bad it took
me a while to recover

I admit I make this mistake, too, but a lot of PUAs try to rush through conversation and routines out of nervousness, potential nervousness, or anything of the sort.

I bet you were speaking relatively fast. I'm right, aren't I? ;-)
Well, slow down your speech while looking into her eyes. stronger effect.
And, listen to what she has to say, and ask yourself, "how do i play around with what she gave me here?"

Let's see... "I want a car!"
Instead of just moving on through your sophomore sister thread, cut it and save it for later. she gave you many genuine things to talk about: cars, her desire for a car, her potential immaturity for wanting something like a little kid, and anything else you can judge from HOW she said that.

The purpose of stacking openers is to basically multiple thread to build deeper rapport and such. Don't rush through your opener or you will find yourself STUCK...or forced to transition to a routine without a smooth transition lol (which is fine during night game...and maybe day game)

You still did a good job, but like everyone else said, dont rush it next time, and YOU must be the one to institute new threads in the convo.

Ouch. Ah well, you did a good job, you opened successfully so congrats. Just start working on getting to the next level now.

The car could be a good neg to work in there instead.

Sucks they were getting rid of you.

they weren't trying to get rid of you, they were just giggly girls. The "target" or the girl that said, "go look!" was just saying that 'cos her friend was there, & it's true, why would she look for you?!

So there were different approaches to your situ, i'm a cocky & funny geezer because i think quite quickly and so my speech is quite fast. Which although some people say is bad and that you should slow it down, i use it to my advantage 'cos it gets people laughing.

HB: I want a car!
Me: Typical. Do you not think you have enough going for you now? Actually...yer....you do need a car...boost your street cred up...

This'll get some cocky remark back, some giggles, they'll bitch about you to each other, call them up on this:

Me: look, just because you can't stand up for yourself doesn't mean you're allowed to go to your friend and start squabbling about me, at least not yet. Come on, lets settle this like adults....thumb war.

And there you go, you're already initiating kino with her.

Thumb wars are excellent. Make it fun though, she tries to move her hand away, you grab her arm to stop her moving...show control.

When initiating a thum war go like this:
1, 2, 3, 4, I declare a thumb war...bow to the king, (bow your thumb), kiss the queen (both thumbs kiss), Blowjob (give her a blowjob), Blow job (she gives your thumb a blowjob)...

much more fun.

Just keep up the confidence!

you seem to have a great job opening and now should focus on the transition. the only other thing i can add to your actual opener is that you don't want to get her answer too quickly, because if you haven't thought up a transition to conversation it ends right after she gives you your answer and seems try hard to keep it going.

she she mentioned the bag you could have dragged it out by saying "so you're one of them, huh" or something like that... then you could say something like "you look about her size, you're coming with me to model some clothes" and drag her along to model for you. chicks dig that

good opinion opener. It almost took me a second to realize that sophomores turn 16. Might want to ask, "what would you want if you were turning 16?"

This will evoke a more predictable answer like, "a car" which can turn into a neg which C-DUB mentioned.

Only thing I would avoid is "$15 budget." That may seem cheap. A good way to turn that might be, "As if it's not hard enough to shop for a girl, she said she doesn't want me to spend a lot on her. She would rather have me spend $15 on something meaningful."

This shows DHV saying you have a close connection with your family.
