made 2 out of the 5 approaches i was supposed to..

well i hope its counted as an FR, even though its just a rookie mission. Now for
those of you who dont know, Romeo had instructed me to start off some goals
and stuff for PU. I was initially supposed to make5 approaches today, but i wont
lie to u guys i only made 2 ..the second one was pretty freakin' awesome!

Okay so I was at the mall with my uncle doing some last minute Xmas shopping
and i guess not too many people had shopping left so the mall was rather
empty as compared to a normal business day there. (I was at Hawthorne mall
in Vernon Hills which is usually a pretty fucking busy mall) So after a long while
shopping around, me and my uncle start looking for this one store and we cant
find it, so i go and check the map and on my way back i make strong eye
contact with a hispanic HB6 working at a kiosk. I say to myself "It's ON!" As
soon as I'm about to throw out my opener she opens me instead and as funny
as it sounds she offers me free lotion!
Haha so this is what happens after that:

HB6: Hey you must be here for xmas shopping right?
Grin: Yea well i just got done and i'm here w/my uncle and we're just looking
around for somethings.
HB6: Well then you must need something for your ladies?
Grin: LadieS?! Sorry missy i'm not a player!
HB6: Haha No i didn't mean that i meant any ladies in your life like your mom,
grandma etc.
Grin: Well No, the only woman I'm shopping for is my aunt.
HB6: No mom or grandma?
(I nod saying no)
HB6: Oh its okay we have stuff for men too, we have lots of these nice lotions
Grin: uhh idk
HB6: Well as u can see there's not much happening at my kiosk, i'd really
appreciate it if u looked through and bought something
(by now it just seemed like she was desperate for the sale and would do
anything for it. I wasn't gonna buy it so i replied)
Grin: Uhh i think i'll check that out later but for now i gotta get back to my uncle
because he's been waiting for a while now, i might come back later and check
out some of your stuff.

My Thoughts: It was okay at the beginning but it seemed a little bitter at the
end. Anyways, i know thats just part of the game so i can take it. Next one was
better though

So I'm at Barnes & Nobles at the same mall, and i'm there to buy a copy of
Style's New book. So at the register, i wasn't even thinking of it but the HB7
working at the cash register goes, "Rules of the Game?? What game is this?"
And Boom it strikes me, instead of nodding my head and walking off like any
another joe blow off the street i decide to open.
Grin: Oh this is a really awesome Game! I'd highly recommend that you read it
HB7: Hmm, sure. Ahh one minute please hold on, i have this headache
Grin: Job stress right?
HB7: Yea, these guys put me on such LONG shifts
Grin: Really? What kinda hours do u get?
HB7: i work from blah to blah (I dont remember what timings she said)
Grin: Oh jeez i'm sure that must be stressful, my ex-gf used to work at one of
these places too and she used to be all tired and stressed out all the time
HB7: Oh well that sucks
Grin: Yea, hey i sort of got to go now, but i might see ya later

Later i sit around and chill in the store (Far from where she could even see me)
Then my uncle comes in and we decide to look around since he's like a master
book-buyer lol. The both of us end up picking up some stuff from the store and
we go to the cash register, but this time to the guy next to her.
For like the first minute or so i ignore her on purpose then i turn towards her
and..
Grin: So we meet again!
HB7: Yea haha. Hey are you interested in buying our store's mascot?
Grin: Uhh I dont think so, what's he look like?
HB7: He's a cute teddy bear, look there (points at it)
(i give her the not too interested in it look)
HB7: Okay how about this, I'll give it to you for free!
Grin: What?
HB7: Yea it's on me
Grin: Are you serious?
HB7: Totally serious! it's on me
Grin: hmm show me the thing
(She hands it to me)
I show it to my uncle and ask if he's interested, he says no
then she suddenly realises i'm with someone and pops out of the blue with..
HB7: Oh no i was just kidding, i can't afford this.
Grin: Do u have ADHD or something?!?! (being c&f)
HB7(with a low-self esteem pesimistic answer): No I just dont have enough
money and i shouldn't be telling you, you dont know me well enough to care.
Grin: Oh well whatever, i got to go. See you some other day ..MAYBE!
HB7: Okay buh-bye

After-thoughts: I think i didn't do too bad for a newbie on the second one. I
also think she just wasn't in the right mood either. Anyways, critique my
rookie mission guys!!!

Wow, what the hell was that chick playing at on the last one?
The second one was pretty good, especially considering you're new at this. Mentioning your ex might not have been the best idea.
"i sort of got to go now, but i might see ya later" - don't be so undecided. You definately have to go. You are alpha, you have things to do.
With the first approach, I think there was a lot of potential you didn't use. You started nicely with the "I'm not a player" line, but your C&F deteriorated pretty quickly. "uhh idk" there's that undecided attitude. You're not this girl's customer, you're a potential boyfriend/FB. Don't lose your frame.
But hey, you're approaching where AFC's would not. For a self-confessed newbie, that's awesome. Keep it up.

Now, I'm makin an assumption here, take the following as constructive criticism

People tried to take the money out of you in a *non-very slick* way, and I wonder if that has to do with the way you portray yourself...

(Now, it can also be that they were just that desperate, who knows... I suggest that you get feedback from someone around you)

One friend of mine (Who I have completely changed since I met him) use to have that problem before, people at the mall tried to get the money out of his pockets by literally tricking into buying stuff... It was awful

So, I'm worried that maybe happening, and it maybe because of THE WAY YOU PORTRAY YOURSELF, but... the way you respond to this doesn't help.

For example:

HB6: Hey you must be here for xmas shopping right?
Grin: Yea well i just got done and i'm here w/my uncle and we're just looking
around for somethings.

You must be here for xmas shopping?
No sweetie, I'm here to flirt with girls...

You became the customer, she got to know about you too quick

HB6: Well then you must need something for your ladies?

The ladies? No way, they can wait, but anyway, (with the seductive voice) how did you know I was a ladies man?

The rest was good, you just basically got rid of a bad sales woman.

Now, on set 2...

- You never heard of it!? OMG... You looked informed from far away
- The Sex Game
- Chest Game? (Really?) No

I don't expect you to being able to read what they 'truly' meant... but you will learn with experience.

Also i'd like to let u know that tomorrow i wont get a chance because i'd be celebrating xmas
but wednesday i'm leaving for my grandma's in chicago so i'm gonna open 5 sets FO SHO!
Even though i'll be there to visit my sick grandma i'll still manage to get the time to go out
and open them. Not too sure if i'd get time for day2-10 sets while i'm over there though.
BUT however, they dont have internet access over there so if i find someone who has an
internet connection then i'll put my FR up but otherwise it'll be up after i get back home which
will be on Friday evening.

Thanks once again for the critique man, i'll be looking forward to applying this stuff in the field!

PS: i dont think they were just trying to sell stuff to me because of my appearance since thats
like the first time its ever happened. I think they just assumed that since i'm there at the last
minute before xmas, when no one is, i'd be willing to buy shyt and trust me the mall was soo
empty it was almost depressing. I'm pretty sure they were freakin desperate to make a sale
because where i live, the fact that you look like a teenager is enough of a reason for a
salesman to ignore you ..even when you have the "im buying this" look on ur face and your
trying to find some help!
