Default Computer guides for tweaking your system performance

http://www.thelittlecomputershop.com/index.php

The guides can be found in the top left corner, under the headline called "articles."

They are great for getting more performance from your PC, using either Windows XP, or Vista.

Four great programs that I use:
1. AVG anti-virus
2. Wopti
3. TuneUp Utilities 2008
4. CCleaner

Looks like a decent read. The services and protocol disables are probably the most you'll see as far as "performance" gains. Uninstalling any -uneeded- programs is always a no brainer. Also get yourself a good free Antivirus. I recommend AVG and Ad-Aware combo personally.

I like Avast much better than AVG from experience with them both and my choice. Also, AVG Anti-Spyware (formerly Ewido) along with Spybot is I find a much better anti-spy than ad-aware (and a lot less tasking on cpu/faster)

So simple, yet so effective.

Good recommendation Link.
