He did. The world is rejoicing.

Also: no, you're not. Like the man said, this isn't the change, but it's the start of it.
Heck of a speech.

I wasn't voting for him, but I'll be optimistic and hope for the best. Hopefully he lives up to the hype.

Slick: Politicians only suck when we let them. The more active you are in the political scene, the more you can hold them accountable for the bullshit they do. George W. Bush got away with the shit that he did because of apathy from the American people. There's no easy way around it. There are two ways to get a bad president out of office (impeachment and revolution) and neither were threatened, let alone acted upon.

The number one way you keep politicians accountable is to vote for the Other Guy the next time around. In this way, America came through. Bush was a fuck-tard, and now we never have to hear from him again. Thank you, my American friends.

The only problem I have with this is that America has stopped being the enemy... Who the hell are Canadians I supposed to hate on now? ^_^

well, someone did try to impeach Bush (i think it was Kucinich) but that was too late in the game and didn't take. I'm so proud of my country. I'm glad my president is from Chicago although I'm sure Hawaii and maybe Boston will have a claim on him too. I hardly knew who he was in 04' even though he was running in my own state except for maybe hearing a campaign commercial in passing. but man, when I heard him speak at the 2004 DNC, you couldn't help but take notice. I knew then, this guy is gonna be president one day. I just thought that 08' would be too soon. I had an understandable skepticizm about my countrymen but in the end, they delivered. I even donated money to his campaign and wish I could have helped campaign. and man, I wish I had went to Grant Park that day.

Meh, I agree we need a change, but I'm not sure that the change should be as drastic as Obama wants. We need a combination of Obama and McCain... We need a McBama.

But- in regards to the president elect- things could either turn out really great or really poorly. That is the way drastic change works. Either changes makes everything fantastic and all sunshine and rainbows or instigates an economic depression that will shake even the poorest and most removed countries. Let's hope for the first.

While I do not agree with all of Barack Obama's policies, I do believe this guy will put his heart into this nation, and beyond that I consider him an extremely intelligent man. Intelligent enough to associate himself with those who know their niche pretty damn well and social enough to be well liked by millions. His power to communicate and get things done his way is astounding. I'm faithful and I support him. I hope we all work together for a better nation and a better world.
